I seem to have neglected to post for the entirety of
February. Oh
well.
Let's
see...I have now been to
Detroit. I do believe that was my first time in
Michigan. Thanks again, Sarah! I've also gone through an
interview. We'll see if anything comes of
that. I've been accepted to the library science program at Indiana but not at Illinois (for some reason). I don't know about Kent State
yet. I do need to graduate from college first, though, which means I really need to do lots of work on my honors senior
thesis. That might be easier now that I am only in three role-playing games instead of five (Adam's ended a couple of weeks ago, and the epic game just finished last Sunday). They were pretty fun while they
lasted.
The role-playing guild's been gearing up for our annual WittCon (which everyone who reads this should
attend...Saturday March 17th at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio). We had a spaghetti dinner Feast of Steve for the purpose of putting up posters for said
con. [Steve is a plush badger and the more active of the vice presidents of our
guild...as well as a
deity.] All Hail Steve!
I found my first white hair the day before my 22nd
birthday. Will I be taking after the Hayes side, then? It's interesting to picture myself with white
hair.
My copious amounts of reading from Christmas Break/earlier this semester have unfortunately been deterred by school and whatnot,
sadly. I did reread The Hobbit, however, and hopefully will get to The Lord of the Rings again
shortly. For school I've been reading a barrage of poetry (which is awesome) and gothic works (which are creepy). I've also forced Here, There Be Dragons on a couple of people and started one on A Series of Unfortunate
Events.
Classes are okay this
semester. None of them are truly stellar, but I have awesome friends in each class, so that
helps.
I finally had to play the Prokofiev sonata 7
mvmt. 1 in front of an
audience. I hate
performing...I really am the worst music major
ever. I definitely butchered the piece (even worse than I normally do). But, according to my piano professor, it sounded like real music (as opposed to what I didn't dare to ask). And the wife of the chair of the music department said that out of all the music students I had the most soul, the soul of a
musician.
Ummm....
right. Don't really know what to make of
that. Getting cornered by music faculty after a performance, especially when one is antisocial, is an unpleasant
experience. Thanks to Jeanne for rescuing me.linklinklink Part of me really loathes music right now.linklinklink
Still knitting, but still not done with Sarah's sweater.linklinklink I have finished a few scarves in the meantime.linklinklink Really cheap clearance yarn needs to stop tempting me.linklinklink..
